
Paris, prince of Troy, was chosen to judge which of the goddesses was the most beautiful: Hera, Athena, or Aphrodite. In exchange for being chosen, Aphrodite offered him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world, who turned out to be Helen, queen of Sparta. Seduced by Paris, they fled from Sparta to Troy, unleashing the wrath of Helen’s husband, the king Menelaus, and igniting a decade-long war where gods and mortals clashed.
